Environmental Impacts
Establishing waste-to-energy plants will create jobs and stimulate the local economy.
Meeting the Objectives of SANIFIN Project
The SANIFIN project, implemented by the PADF with funding from USAID, aims to:
- Reduce open burning of wood by using Biochar as a fuel replacement.
- Prevent environmental catastrophes such as air pollution, deforestation, and ecosystem destruction.
Biochar as a Fuel Replacement
- Reduces the need to cut trees for burning wood, which is rampant in many regions of Haiti.
- Helps in reducing air pollution and preserving both animal and vegetal ecosystems.

We’re here to support you every step of the way.
Our Beneifts
Reimagining La Perle des Antilles
Reimagining Economic Growth in Haiti
- By leveraging waste-to-energy initiatives to bolster the local economy.
Revived Haiti’s Beauties
- Emphasizing the beauty of people, sceneries, and beaches.
- Highlighting historical monuments and ensuring clean and uncompromising sanitation.
Biochar & Ash Residues
- The pyrolysis process generates Biochar and ash residues, which can be purified and used as a component in materials to lay down roads.
- Pyrolyzing biomass waste will reduce GHG emissions and its byproducts (Heat, Syngas, Pyrolytic Oil, Wood Vinegar, and Biochar) will have commercial value.
